EASTER U15s FRIENDLY 2011
This Easter we organised a tour for Great Bradfords FC under 15s who played against local side Penya Sant Jordi. An early evening fixture which turned out to be a great night for both teams.
The game started very fast both teams sharing early possession when Bradfords had the first shot on goal which went just wide.
Sant Jordi then scored from a neat pass through the defence and the striker finished very well . More midfield work saw Great Bradfords win a few corners but no goals till just before the half Sant Jordi broke away again and went two up.
Second half GB started better and forced an early corner which was whipped in by skipper Bobby Jackson to Charlie who rose above all the local defenders and hit a bullet header in the top corner (goal of the match) . GB pushed for more goals but as they did gaps appeared and including a penalty where Sant Jordi went 4-1 up, never say die attitude though saw GB score again when Aidan Doughty latched on to a Louis Johnson thru ball to speed away and smash home and reduce the deficit.
In good spirit the game was played and even when the GB goalie Jack Cherry went up for a corner the spanish crowd roared with laughter. Sant Jordi scored again before the final whistle to tie it up at 5-2.
¨New friends made and a return fixture could be arranged when they travel to England ...a great experience. Thanks again Jason if you need any sort of favour in the future just drop me a line you never know¨.
