CIUDAD D´EIVISSA- INTERNATIONAL RUGBY TOURNAMENT 2012

The ninth edition of next years tournament Ciutat d´Eivissa will see female participation for the first time. Due to the interest and demand of women´s teams we will be running a ladies competition paralell to that of the men´s tournament. We are looking forward to next May´s tournament more than ever! 

This years tournament was our most popular and probably the best edition to date with a record number of teams, and touring parties from 4 different countries. 

The format of the competition is 8 teams, (6 in the ladies competition) being drawn into 2 groups of  4. The teams will play matches of  15 mins, with 2pts for a win, 1pt for a draw. The tournament is played in group format (groups A & B), with the winner of group A playing the winner of group B in the final and group A & B runners-up playing for 3rd place. The teams that finish 3rd and 4th in the group stages will play the plate competition. The maximum number of games played per team throughout the day will be 5.

All rugby tournaments on the island this coming season 2011/12 will be part of the 10th aniversary celebrations of Ibiza Club de Rugby and are expected to be very popular as end of season tours due to the large amount of publicity and invitations that will be delivered.

The first 7 deposits (6 for the ladies tournament) we recieve from teams will enter, as this competiton is very popular as an end of season tour.
